ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:
The Metropolitan Trading Company (MTC) is a Johannesburg city organisation that operates within the Johannesburg Broadband Network (JBN.)
The main goal of the JBN is to support economic growth within the city by ensuring affordable broadband connectivity is readily available. The JBN also aims to ensure that residents of the city have an increase in telecommunications services whilst also decreasing the city's operating costs. This will further ensure Johannesburg's economic growth as well as provide affordable broadband services to the industry and decrease ICT costs.
The Vision of the MTC is to decrease the division within Johannesburg to achieve a more inclusive and connected city. Their Mission is to ensure that telecommunications costs are decreased; establish connectivity for Pro-poor development to ensure excellent service delivery; ensure that the ease of doing business in the city is easier by improving economic competitiveness; actively contribute to social upliftment and safer communities; and lastly, ensure operational and financial sustainability is met and maintained.
DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: Braamfontein, Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
The Metropolitan Trading Company is offering a number of internship opportunities for young graduates. The aim of the programme is to provide these candidates with the necessary, practical work experience/ exposure they need to succeed in their career field.
Internships are currently available in these fields:
- Supply Chain Management
- Risk and Compliance Management
- Human Resources Management/ Industrial Psychology/ Business Admin
- Public Relations/ Public Management/ Public Administration
- Internal Audit
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must be between 18 and 35 years old
- Must have completed a 3-year Diploma/ Degree in the above fields OR must be studying towards a Degree/ Diploma
- Must be an unemployed graduate
- Must NOT have recently been employed
- Must NOT have participated in another internship opportunity
