DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 1 year

Sewafrica Fashion College is offering a Pattern Making Learnership opportunity to candidates with sewing experience who would like to further their skills and learn to make patterns. The learnership is offered in partnership with the Fibre Processing and Manufacturing (FP&M) SETA.

The programme will start in October 2022 and end in September 2023, and will run from Monday to Friday each day.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen or have a study or work visa valid until September 2023
  • Must have completed Grade 11
  • Must have passed English and Mathematics in Grade 11
  • Must know how to sew on domestic or industrial sewing machines
  • Must be willing to commit to completing the programme

  • Once applications have been reviewed candidates will be contacted of the outcome and the next steps.
  • Candidates will be required to complete a Numeracy, Literacy and Sewing assessment, as well as attend an interview before the selection is made.

SEWAFRICA is a College in the heart of the Fashion District of Johannesburg City. The accredited College has a tradition of embracing the potential in each individual, they believe that everybody should have an opportunity to unzip their potential.

SEWAFRICA offers full-time courses in Fashion Design, Pattern Making and Garment Construction. Courses available include a National Certificate in Craft Production Fashion Focus (CATHSSETA), Certificate in Fashion (SEWAFRICA), Certificate in Foundations of Fashion (SEWAFRICA), Short Course in Dressmaking (SEWAFRICA).
