DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Workplace: 158 Civic Boulevard, Metropolitan Centre, Braamfontein, Gauteng
Department: Community Development
Branch: Integrated Policy Planning and Procedure (IPPR)
Salary: between R3 500 and R8 329.27 (costs to company with no benefits)
Contract period: maximum 12 months

The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Library and Information Services Directorate, Community Development Department are inviting youth residing within Johannesburg to apply for the internship programme. The aim of of the programme is to allow students to experience on-the-job exposure and attain academic qualifications as a pre or post requirement for academic qualifications in accordance with the increasing demands of the tertiary institution.
 

The main goal of the intern is to: provide a professional level of administrative work, research and development, and policy development to the IPPR Directorate. They will also partake in the directorate’s everyday operations (including general office admin, monitoring and evaluation, risk management and regulatory compliance, monitoring and evaluation reporting and assistance with admin tasks relating to strategic planning (in the short, medium and long term).

Key Learning Areas: Assisting the Directors office with all things relating to policy development, research and intergovernmental relations.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

  • Must reside in Johannesburg
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years
  • Must have completed Matric (NSC certificate)
  • Must have completed one of the following qualifications: Business Management / Business Administration / Public Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) or relevant qualification
  • Must be able to work in a group
  • Must have strong coordination and problem-Solving skills (and Batho Pele Principles)
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • Must be computer literate and be able to work in MS Office
