South African National Parks is one of the worlds top scientific research and conservation bodies. They lead and manage many of the country's parks, responsible for the preservation of flora and fauna landscapes that are vital to our heritage.
South African National Parks offer a number of activities such as swimming, sightseeing, canoeing, game viewing, 4x4 trails, golf, accommodation tariffs, hiking, mountain biking, bird-watching, self-drive safaris, guided walks, cultural and historical experiences, and so much more.

1) Mountain Zebra National Park, Eastern Cape: Finance Department
2) Garden Route National Park, Wilderness, Western Cape: Social Economic Transformation Department
3) Garden Route National Park Tsitsikamma section, Western Cape: Tourism Department
4) Garden Route National Park Knysna section, Western Cape: Social Economic Transformation Department
5) Camdeboo National Park, Karoo, Eastern Cape: Finance Department
5) Karoo National Park, Western Cape: Tourism Department
Number of positions available: 1 position in each department
Pay/ Stipend: R5 000 per month
Contract period: 1 year

South African National Parks is offering internship opportunities in their various departments, to graduates who have completed a Diploma or Bachelors Degree (NQF6/NQF7) qualification. During the 1 year programme, the candidate will be placed in South African National Parks and will receive a monthly stipend.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must have completed Matric (NSC)
  • Must have completed one of the following qualifications:
    • 1) Mountain Zebra National Park: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Finance or Procurement Management
    • 2) Garden Route National Park: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or Natural Sciences
    • 3) Garden Route National Park Tsitsikamma section: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Tourism Management
    • 4) Garden Route National Park Knysna section: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or Natural Sciences
    • 5) Camdeboo National Park, Karoo, Eastern Cape: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management/ Finance or Procurement Management
    • 6) Karoo National Park, Western Cape: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Tourism Management
  • Must be 18 to 35 years old
  • Must have obtained your qualification from a recognised South African Public Higher Education Institution (HEI)
  • Must be willing to work in the South African National Parks for the full duration of the internship
  • Must NOT be currently/ previously employed
  • Must NOT have participated in a placement/internship programme
  • Must be willing to pay for your own accommodation and transportation (if applying from outside of the area)
  • Must be available for necessary assessment and selection interviews (the time, date, and location will be determined by South African National Parks)
