ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

Established 25 years, the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) continues to promote and protect the human rights of South African's, marking their milestone as a constitutional democracy on 2nd October 2020.

The SAHRC continues to show its relevance as an institution once established by the leaders of South Africa, and the Constitution, with the aim of creating a deeper-rooted culture of human rights in South Africa. It is stated, in chapter 9 of the Constitution, that the SAHRC has the responsibility to monitor, protect and promote the human rights of the South African citizens in accordance with the bill of rights and as the Nation Human Rights Institution (NHRI).
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations: Braamfontein, Johannesburg, Gauteng (Head Office)
Duration: 2 months

A 2 month internship opportunity is being offered to a lucky candidate by the South African Human Rights Commission. The internship will be in their Internal Audit departments and the candidate will be required to show a dedication to human rights.

Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

  • Resolving open order findings by evaluating evidence collected from business units
  • Updating the dashboard and open audit findings
  • Performing exercises of benchmarking and best practice
  • Conduct consulting and assurance pertaining to all business areas (Finance, Information Technology, and Operations)
  • Manage performance information audits
  • Follow the IIA standards to practice Internal Auditing professionally
  • When assigned by the CAE, performing Administrative and Ad hoc duties

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Education requirement: must have completed a Diploma or Degree in Internal Auditing
  • Must have an excellent understanding of Internal Audit practices
  • Must be computer literate in E-mail, Internet, Microsoft Word/ Excel
