ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

The Office of the Pension Funds Adjudicator (OPFA) is a legal entity established in accordance with the terms of the Pension Funds Act, 24 of 1956. The aim of the company and the Act is to eliminate pension fund complaints that have been lodged in a manner that's economical, fair, and expeditious.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Ashlea Gardens, Pretoria, Gauteng
Salary: Market-related

OPFA is offering a Supply Chain Management (SCM) Internship to graduates or final year students.

Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

  • Providing assistance to the SCM officer, ensuring the procurement of services and goods are in accordance with the OPFA SCM/ legislation
  • Obtaining and sourcing quotations by contacting service providers
  • When required to do so, contacting service providers for the purpose of briefing meetings
  • Ensuring requisitions and purchase orders match the business' confirmed budget and specifications by careful preparation
  • Ensuring the correct purchase orders have been placed and approved with the correct service provider(s)
  • Ensuring that goods and services are rendered timeously by following up on deliveries
  • Communicating with the end-user on updates regarding the progress in procuring the requested services or goods
  • Preparing the key submissions before meetings and serving as the secretariat for the SCM Committees
  • Ensuring your participation in the recording and closing of bids
  • Ensuring communication is kept open with service providers for the bid outcomes
  • Ensuring all SCM records are accurate and kept safe
  • Preparing and receiving the necessary information for audit whilst also ensuring the required information is sent for auditing and received for the purpose of record-keeping
  • Submitting invoices and purchase orders to Finance for processing and confirming its accuracy
  • Ensuring new assets are bar-coded and providing assistance in asset verification
  • Performing additional ad-hoc duties
  • Ensuring monthly and quarterly reports are compiled
  • Perform any other tasks set out by the CFO

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed a National Diploma in Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Accounting or a related field
  • OR must be in your final year of studies towards a Degree in Logistics, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Accounting or a related field
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Offices
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have excellent numeracy skills
  • Must be trustworthy and confident
  • Must be goal-driven
  • Must have a passion for service delivery
  • Must be able to work in a high pressured environment
  • Must be able to meet deadlines
  • Must be professional and organised
  • Must be able to work well in a team
