ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

Dis-Chem was formed in the year 1978 by recently qualified pharamacists, Ivan and Lynette Saltzman, when they opened their first retail pharmacy in Mondeor, Johannesburg, South Africa. In 1984 the second retail pharmacy opened at the Randridge Mall in Randburg, Johannesburg.

It wasn't until the late 1980s that Dis-Chem started expanding its offering of non-pharmaceutical products and opened a third retail pharmacy. Today, Dis-Chem prides themselves on offering healthy foods, sport supplements, health and well-being products, and beauty products.

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations: Midrand, Gauteng
Salary: stipend
Contract duration: 12 months

Dis-Chem Pharmacies are inviting graduates who have completed Bcom Information Systems or a computer-related qualifications, to apply for the intern position within the SAP Retail Team. Interns will assist with the SAP Retail system across the business, ensuring that the system runs smoothly and effectively.

Duties and responsibilities:

helping with loading and resolving of marketing queries
ensuring SAP Retail integrity and functionality is maintained
ensuring the master data for SAP Retail is maintained and changed and supported where applicable
providing the SAP Retail team, Dis-Chem Management team and stores with regular feedback and assistance
ensuring integration between SAP and any other program is smooth and efficient
respond and assist SAP Retail related queries
providing Dis-Chem stakeholders with friendly and knowledgeable service
communicate frequently with Dis-Chem stakeholders regularly with matters relating to the SAP Retail (verbal and in written communication)
form and maintain a good relationship with Dis-Chem stakeholders
ensure quality assurance and detect defects, by way of testing functionality of current and new processes
conducting and documenting thorough testing of improvements, enhancements and reports

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

Must be a South African citizen
Must have completed Matric (NSC) or Senior Certificate
Must have completed a BCom Information Systems tertiary qualification or related qualification
Must have reliable transport or a valid driver’s license
Must have a clear credit record and a clear criminal record (checks will be conducted with MIE)
Must have working experience in SAP (advantageous but not essential)
Must be computer literate and have experience working in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Must be honest, reliable and trustworthy
Must have business financial skills
Must pay close attention to detail and have a high level of accuracy
Must be diligent and self-motivated
Must be deadline driven
Must have good time management skills
