The Department of Environment, Forestry & Fisheries (DEFF) is one of the major departments of the government of South Africa. The main responsibility of the DEFF is to conserve, improve and protect the natural resources of South Africa.
DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:
Location: South Africa (Nation Wide)
Allowance/ stipend: R60,792.00 per year
The Department of Environmental, Forestry and Fisheries is offering internship opportunities across South Africa for previously disadvantaged students. The purpose of the programme is to equip the candidates with the necessary skills they will need to succeed in the industry and cause mobility in the public and private sector.
The DEFF aims to use the programme to also increase employability and enhance youth development, establish a culture of life long learning within the Department of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as teach candidates necessary skills by coaching.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:
Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
- Must be a South African Citizen
- Must be unemployed
- Must NOT have participated in any previous internship programmes in the public service
- Must have completed a minimum 3 year tertiary qualification at a recognised higher education institution
