ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

The Chemical Industries Education and Training Authority (CHIETA) was established by the Skills Development Act in 1998, in order to facilitate skills development and ensure that skills needs are identified and addressed through various training initiatives in the chemical and manufacturing industries.

CHIETA is a statutory body and trusted partner in skills development and training for the chemical sector. Every year CHIETA funds the industry for the various occupational programmes, TVET sector and higher education programmes.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

CHIETA have 2 internship positions available for suitable candidates:

1) Stakeholder support internship:
Students who have completed a National Diploma or Degree in Marketing and Communications may apply for this position. Candidates will report directly to the CEO and assist the CEO’s Office with stakeholder related activities.

Key performance areas of the programme:

  • Organize CEO related stakeholder engagements
  • Assist with scheduling CEO’s office events
  • Communicate with Stakeholder Relationship Manager regarding CEO’s promotional material
  • Communicate with Stakeholder Relations Manager regarding any Media / PR related matters scheduled events for the CEO
  • Make travel arrangements for the CEO
  • Determine opportunities for the CEO in the industry
  • Equip Stakeholder Relations Manager with material from the events conducted by the CEO
  • Organize CEO’s diary

2) Administration support internship:
Students who have completed a National Diploma: General Administration/ BA Degree/ Administration Qualification at NQF Level 4, via a learnership may apply for this position. Candidates will report directly to the CEO and assist the CEO’s Office with administration.

Key performance areas of the programme:

  • Conduct administrative tasks, including taking notes during meetings with stakeholders
  • Filing and storage of information
  • Typing handwritten notes
  • Faciliate the PA regarding MANCO decisions
  • Other administration activities

 

Duration: 24 months fixed term contract
Salary: R7 000 - candidates will receive payment on the 15th of every month
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Administration support internship: education requirements: completed a National Diploma: General Administration/ BA Degree/ Administration Qualification at NQF Level 4, via a learnership
  • Stakeholder support internship: education requirements: completed a National Diploma or Degree in Marketing and Communications
  • Experience required: preference will be given to graduates with NO working experience, who need in-service training to qualify
  • Knowledge required: computer literacy skills (MicroSoft Office)
