City of Ekurhuleni Internships/ Learnership/ Workplace Experience Programmes (Ekurhuleni, Johannesburg, Gauteng) South Africa 2021 - 2022

ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE PROGRAMMES:

On the 5 December 2000, nine Gauteng cities/towns and 11 administrations formed to make the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM.) This metropolitan was made up of previous local administrations, namely the Boksburg, Alberton, Kempton Park, Benoni, Khayalami Metropolitan Council, Germiston, Nigel, Brakpan, Edenvale/Lethabong, Springs, and the Eastern Gauteng Services Councils.

Thereafter, a long-term vision for the municipality was created to acknowledge the challenges it faced for an improved and greater working/living environment. Ekurhuleni metropolitan got its name from the Tsonga language, meaning ‘Place of Peace’- this was symbolic in the diversity and new progression the people knew Ekurhuleni would face.

Eukurhuleni's corporate identity was approved on May 31st 2001, setting them apart from neighbouring towns and cities.
