DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations: Gauteng
Duration: 24 months
Number of positions available: 14
Stipend: R7 000 per month

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature (GPL) is offering Internship opportunities to suitably qualified graduates. South African unemployed youth are invited to apply for positions in Business Areas within the department.
 

The GPL has Internship opportunities in the following Business Areas:

  • Communication (2 positions)
  • Visual and Sound Technology (1 position)
  • Hansard (1 position)
  • Information Centre (1 position)
  • Intern Asset Management (1 position)
  • Intern: Transport and Fleet (1 position)
  • Intern: Members Affairs (1 position)
  • Intern: Strategy, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (1 position)
  • Intern: Transversal Mainstreaming (1 position)
  • Intern: Gauteng Speakers forum (1 position)
  • Intern: Parliamentary Exchange Programme (1 position)
  • Intern: Stakeholders Relations (1 position)
  • Intern: Members Relations (1 position)

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must have preferably completed the following qualification:
    • Communication (National Diploma or B-Degree in: Media Studies, Communication Science, Graphic Design and Public Relations, a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage)
    • Visual and Sound Technology (Diploma or B-Degree in: Audio and Sound Technology, Audio Visual Technology, a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage)
    • Hansard (B- Degree in Languages or a National Diploma
      with specialisation in: Translation and or Interpreting and or Terminology Development, a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage)
    • Information Centre (National Diploma or B-Degree in: Information Science or Information Studies, a post graduate qualification will be an added advantage)
    • Intern Asset Management ( Degree and/or Diploma in: Supply Chain Management/Purchasing Management or Logistics or related NQF equivalent qualification)
    • Intern: Transport and Fleet ( Degree or Diploma in: Transport Management or Logistics Management)
    • Intern: Members Affairs ( Certificate, Diploma or Degree in: Business Management, Human Resource Management, Political science, Customer Service)
    • Intern: Strategy, Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (Degree and/or Diploma in: Monitoring and Evaluation, Auditing, Information Management, Developmental Studies, Social Sciences, Public Administration or Business Management or related NQF equivalent qualification)
    • Intern: Transversal Mainstreaming (Degree and/or Diploma: in Commerce, Public Finance and Administration, or Gender, Disability or Youth Studies related disciplines)
    • Intern: Gauteng Speakers forum (Degree and/or Diploma or Equivalent as a minimum qualification in: Law, Political Sciences, Finance, or Public Administration)
    • Intern: Parliamentary Exchange Programme (Degree and/or Diploma in: Political Science, Protocol and/or International Relations)
    • Intern: Stakeholders Relations (Degree and/or Diploma or Equivalent as a minimum qualification in: Law, Political Sciences, or Public Administration/ Management)
    • Intern: Members Relations (Certificate, Diploma or Degree in: Business management, Human Resource Management, Political science, Customer Service)
  • Must have good time management skills
  • Must have good interpersonal skills
  • Must have good communication skills
  • Must have good planning and organizational skills
  • Must have no previous criminal convictions or pending cases
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must have NOT been previously employed in the field of the advertised post
  • Must have NOT previously participated in an Internship Programme
