ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

To promote South Africa's Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations (IGFR) System, the Financial and Fiscal Commission (FFC) was created with the aim of providing expert, proactive and independent advice that uses an empirical policy analysis. This is done to guarantee South African's realisation of their values within the Constitution.
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Locations: Cape Town, Western Cape and Midrand, Pretoria, Gauteng
Duration: 12 months
Salary/ stipend: between R269 862 and R314 888 per annum

The FFC is offering a 1-year internship opportunity to an unemployed graduate, who requires workplace exposure in the Intergovernmental Fiscal Relations (IGFR) System to further enhance their skills. During the internship, the candidate will be mentored and coached to further achieve this.

  • Performing statistical /econometric modelling
  • Searching literature
  • Performing exploratory data research

  • Education, skills and human capital development
  • Infrastructure and economic services
  • Macroeconomics
  • Social protection and safety nets
  • Health and national health insurance
  • State-owned companies
  • Local and district municipalities
  • Public sector expenditure
  • Public finance

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Education requirement: must have complete a Degree in Public Finance / Econometrics / Economics / Statistics or any related field
  • Must NOT have been involved in another internship programme
  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills
  • Must have excellent knowledge and the ability to work well with numerous quantitative / statistical software packages (advantageous)
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be an individual from a Previously Disadvantaged Group (advantageous) – In accordance with the Employment Equity Act
