DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

The City of Johannesburg is providing an internship opportunity for a Johannesburg resident. The aim of of the programme is to allow students to experience on-the-job exposure and attain academic qualifications as a pre or post requirement for academic qualifications in accordance with the increasing demands of the tertiary institution.

The ultimate goal of the City of Johannesburg is to provide students with work-based training. The main focus of the Internship opportunity is to provide the ISD unit with administration support to gain systematic organisational processes and achieve a high-level of customer service standards.
 

Location: Midrand, Johannesburg, Gauteng
Department: Citizen Relationship & Urban Management
Branch: Integrated Service Delivery
Salary: R3 500 per month (costs to company with no benefits)
Contract type: permanent

Key Learning Areas: Providing professional support, administrative, public relations and intra-personal skills to the Line Manager. The candidate will achieve this by guaranteeing the Department meets the objectives and goals set out by the Urban Management Function of the City by rendering a successful urban management service.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

  • Location requirement: must be a resident of Johannesburg
  • Age requirement: must be between 18 and 35 years
  • Education requirement: must have completed Matric (NSC certificate)
  • Education requirement: must be currently studying towards an Administration or Secretarial tertiary qualification (Certificate / Diploma / Degree)
  • Must be computer literate in Internet and MS Offices
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be prepared for extra work (standby/ overtime)
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Must be self-motivating and have a positive attitude
  • Must be able to engage well with others
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to co-ordinate
  • Must be able to analyse and solve problems
