ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP

The Cape Town Science Centre offers an entire universe of discovery; they have over 250 science exhibits that are interactive with many mind-boggling puzzles. The Cape Town Science Centre aims to show the importance of the Science Centre and showcase it as a platform whereby individuals can actively learn science and technology. The Cape Town Science Centre has partnered with many organisations, National Government Departments and educational NGO's to achieve this collaboration that will benefit all in society.

The Cape Town Science Centre is a proud member of the Southern African Association of Science and Technology Centres (SAASTEC) as well as Cape Town Tourism. They complete all their operations under the protection of the Interactive Science Foundation NPC (RF), a registered Non-Profit Organisation (031-701-NPO) and Public Benefit Organisation (18/11/13/2663).

Along with the hands-on displays, the Cape Town Science Centre also offers the following interactive displays: Science shows; Workshops that are both hands-on and curriculum-based; Programmes that run in the holidays; Science Camps; Science Theatre; Exhibitions about travelling; Experiments that are hands-on; Excursions; Programmes that are experiential driven; Learner enrichment school on Saturdays; Tournaments and workshops for robotics; Science talks that are popular, 'Science Out Loud'; Examination preparation lessons for science and maths; Workshops for educator enrichment; Educator Forums; Courses for Computers; Topical science events mini-exhibitions.
 

ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape
Duration: 12 months

The Cape Town Science Centre is offering an internship opportunity for unemployed graduates. This programme aims to use the candidate's skills and knowledge as part of their National Youth Service Programme. The programme runs for 1 year and the candidate will receive a monthly stipend.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria - failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed a tertiary qualification (be a graduate) in Engineering/ Science or Technology
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years-old
