ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

Location: Sandton, Gauteng
Contract duration: 6 months (can be extended for a further 6 months depending on performance)

P&G are inviting candidates to join the team in the position of Procurement Intern. Students will have the chance to expand their skill base in the field of procurement, while receiving mentorship and coaching from P&G leaders. Once the programme has completed, students may be offered Full-Time employment with the company.
 

Key performance areas:

  • Using a range of technical, analytical, and commercial skills
  • Building working relationships with internal personnel from other business sectors (including Logistics, Manufacturing etc)
  • Building relationships with external business partners/ suppliers to achieve the business results, as well as support negotiations, bidding and Contract management
  • Building and executing sourcing strategies to deliver key business needs
  • Keeping updated with and analysing new market and industry developments (including lead thinking on demonstrating start-up ecosystem and conduct industry benchmarks)
  • Identify and push ideas for value creation, partake as an essential team member and drive the desired results via collaboration with multi-functional team
  • Expose business-building ideas and cost-saving opportunities by way of disruptive thinking and ideas
  • Push for innovation in the supply chain area via data analysis to support business strategies

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria - failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen with a valid ID document
  • Must be studying towards an undergraduate Bachelors’ Degree or Postgraduate Degree
  • Must be located in Gauteng
  • Must have good English communication skills
  • Must have little or no working experience
  • Must be passion about winning
  • Must be willing to tackle new challenges every day
  • Must have a valid drivers' license (advantageous but not essential)
  • Must be available for 6 months to take part in the programme
  • Must have basic computer skills
  • Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
  • Must be able to easily adapt to new systems
  • Must have strong leadership skills
  • Must be a critical thinker
  • Must be able to recognize strategic opportunities
  • Must be able to results driven
