DETAILS ABOUT THE PROGRAMME:

Location: Gauteng & Western Cape
Duration: 12 months to 18 months

PPS is offering Graduate Internship Development Programme (GIDP) opportunities to young, ambitious graduates who would like to join their dynamic team. The GIDP is available in various fields and at the end of the programme, interns will have the prospect of receiving permanent employment within PPS.

Interns will have the opportunity to work for a company with a reputation of distinction, alongside highly experienced, networked individuals, who’ll offer them training in corporate success. They’ll also gain relevant work experience, soft skills and comprehensive training. The successful candidates will be supervised by a formal mentor.

The following opportunities are available
Graduate Internship: Digital Communication Developer
The intern will provide support and maintenance of all IT Communications to members and intermediaries. The intern will also support the development of new communication requests using appropriate technologies. The intern will learn and be able to support the current Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) processes.

Graduate Internship: Java Developer
The intern will develop data intensive software applications as well as data rich applications within a Scrum development framework. The intern will also develop, test, fix defects and release Java applications as per the defined architectural and design standards. The intern must interact and maintain good relationships with business stakeholders (business users, project management resources, testing and training teams).

Graduate Internship: SQL Developer
The intern will fix defects, develop, test and release SQL applications as per the defined architectural and design standards. The intern will also carry out systems analyses, design, coding, program debugging, system testing, security assessments, performance assessments and user interfaces. The intern must interact and maintain good relationships with business stakeholders (business users, project management resources, testing and training teams).

Graduate Internship: Actuarial Analyst
The intern will report to Head of Valuations, the role will be responsible for analysing risk evaluation data, coordinating, preparing, and performing actuarial analyses which are required when developing new products, projecting future results, and monitoring the experience of PPS insurance products. The intern will interact with other teams within the Actuarial Services department, as well as with other departments within the PPS Group, interact with the Head of Actuarial Function’s team and the Group’s external auditors.

Graduate Internship: Technical Specialist
The intern will be responsible for testing function as well as supporting the Technical Specialist with the managing of deviations of a technical nature that impact service delivery. The intern will work strictly on a shift work basis including nightshift work.

Graduate Internship: Short Term Claims Administrator
The intern must be a diligent and self-motivated individual. The intern will be required to update and ensure the Masterfile on the system is updated and compliant. The intern be required to assist in co-ordinating All Service Level Agreements that require updating and signature.

Graduate Internship: Service Consultant (HPI)
The intern will provide professional service to clients of PPS Health Professions Indemnity; with office, administrative, marketing and sales duties.

Graduate Internship: Scrum Master
The intern will be a servant leader and coach for an Agile Team who help educate the team in Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, ensuring that the agreed Agile process is being followed. Scrum Masters help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement. The Scrum Master primary responsibility is assisting the self-organizing, self-managing team to achieve its goals by teaching and coaching team practices, implementing and supporting SAFe principles and practices, identifying and eliminating impediments, and facilitating flow. Scrum Masters work with the extended Scrum Master community, including SAFe Program Consultant, Release Train Engineer, Product Owners and Architecture to increase the effectiveness of SAFe across the enterprise.

Graduate Internship: PPS Investments (18 month programme)
The intern must be curious and eager to learn and grow their capabilities. The graduate program offers an opportunity to kickstart a career in the investments industry offering a comprehensive learning experience to support your developmental goals.

Graduate Internship: PPS Foundation (12 month programme)
The intern must be curious and eager to learn and grow their capabilities. The graduate program offers an opportunity to kickstart a career in the investments industry offering a comprehensive learning experience to support your developmental goals.

Graduate Internship: Operational Finance
The intern will be a member of the Operational Finance team reporting to the Manager Operational Finance. The intern will be responsible for processing of different claim, medical and refunds and management reporting including day to day reviewing and processing. The intern must have a higher level of technical understanding. Duties include checking accounting records for accuracy, tracking invoices and payments and maintaining a system for organizing company documents.

Graduate Internship: Life Broker Services
The intern will start out in an admin role for 6 months and then progress to a BC role with the aim of eventually moving them into the financial advisor space.

Graduate Internship: Junior Actuarial Analyst
The intern will support the Actuarial Business Solutions Team in fulfilling their duties specifically with regards to new product development (including pricing and execution), management of existing products and key processes (such as reinsurance) and providing key actuarial input to PPS Insco’s strategic goals.

Graduate Internship: Development Broker Consultant
The intern will support and service intermediaries in their sales efforts by preparing quotes, statement of benefits and other relevant supporting information. The intern will provide constant communication and feedback to advisers relating to all aspects of intermediaries’ operations. The intern must plan, organize and control liaisons with intermediaries, their managers. The intern must ensure continuous improvement of service standards to clients.

Graduate Internship: Business Process Analyst
The intern will report to the Senior Manager: Business Analysis, Intermediate Business Analyst is responsible for providing Business Support capability by demonstrating effectiveness in responding to business needs whilst ensuring that the end to end business process is not compromised with the requested change or incident. The intern will be regarded as a specialist in the resolution of business system application incidents with an intention to ensure optimal system uptime and performance as well as ensuring that information around system inadequacies, inefficiencies and incident management are communicated timeously to key stakeholders.

Graduate Internship: Business Analyst (Support) (12 month programme)
The intern will be responsible for providing a business support capability by demonstrating effectiveness in responding to business needs whilst ensuring that the end-to-end business process is not compromised by the requested change or incident. Graduate Internship: Administrative Assistant
The intern will assist admin assistant and Compliance Assistant and assist with commission recons.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:
Graduate Internship: Digital Communication Developer: must have completed an IT Related Degree/ Diploma, must have Adobe experience Manager Certification (Dev/Ops Engineer, Developer and/or Architect exams) and Java Certification (OCA, OCP) will be advantageous
Graduate Internship: Java Developer: must have completed a Degree in Information Systems/ Computer science or any IT related degree / diploma, and Java Certification (OCA, OCP) will be advantageous
Graduate Internship: SQL Developer: must have completed an IT Related Degree/ Diploma and SQL certifications would be advantageous
Graduate Internship: Actuarial Analyst: must have completed Matric, completed a University Degree majoring in Actuarial Science (preferably Honours) and must be making good progress with actuarial exams, with at least 4 CTs
Graduate Internship: Technical Specialist: must have completed a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent Business Management qualification
Graduate Internship: Short Term Claims Administrator: must have completed a Degree or Diploma in Procurement / Business Administration
Graduate Internship: Service Consultant (HPI): must have completed an appropriate undergraduate degree (business, administration, risk, and compliance), a postgraduate qualification will be advantageous, a FAIS qualification and RE5 will be advantageous (requirement to obtain this once appointed).
Graduate Internship: Scrum Master: must have completed a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Computer Science or Information Science or Information Technology, must be a certified Scrum Master E.g. Professional Scrum Master (PSM I or II), SAFe Scrum Master, Scrum Alliance or equivalent.
Graduate Internship: PPS Investments: must be anm exceptionally talented graduates with an Honours qualification within the following disciplines or areas of specialisation: Data Science/ Analytics, Statistics/ Mathematics, Investments/ Portfolio Management, Information Systems/ Technology, Economics, Finance
Graduate Internship: PPS Foundation: must have completed a BBA, General degree
Graduate Internship: Operational Finance: must have completed a BCom Accountancy degree
Graduate Internship: Life Broker Services: must have completed a BCom general
Graduate Internship: Junior Actuarial Analyst: must have completed Matric, a University Degree majoring in Actuarial Science (Honours will be beneficial), be making good progress with actuarial exams, with preferably most of the A1 and A2 subjects completed.
Graduate Internship: Development Broker Consultant: must have completed Matric, a 3 year or higher bachelor’s degree or national diploma, have a South African drivers licence and their own transport would be advantageous, a NQF 5 – Wealth Management or RFP 3 would be advantageous
Graduate Internship: Business Process Analyst: must have completed Matric, an Information Technology Diploma, a Business Design and or Business Analysis diploma (Advantageous) and ITIL Incident Management (Advantageous)
Graduate Internship: Business Analyst (Support): must have completed Matric, an Information Technology Degree, a Business Design and or Business Analysis diploma (advantageous) and ITIL Incident Management (advantageous)
Graduate Internship: Bookkeeper: must have completed a BCom Accountancy degree
Graduate Internship: Administrative Assistant: must have completed a Degree/diploma in business administration.
