ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

Magalies Water provides top of the range bulk water and secondary services to many mines, municipalities and industries. They are a regional water utility that was established in accordance with the terms of Section 28 of the 1997 Water Services Act 108. Their services range to many municipalities, industrial customers and mining operations across three major provinces: Limpopo, Gauteng, and North West. Within the terms of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA),
Magalies Water is a registered Schedule 3B state-owned enterprise (SOE.) The PFMA is responsible to the South African government under the ruling of the Minister of the Department of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation (DHSWS.)
 

DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Rustenberg, North West
Contract duration: 12 months
Salary/ stipend: R2 000 per month

Magalies Water is offering a learnership opportunity in Water Treatment and Process Control to young candidates from the local community. The aim of this 12-month programme is to equip unemployed youth from the local community with a SAQA accredited Certificate from the Energy and Water Sector Education Training Authority (EWSETA.) Upon completion, the candidate will obtain a relevant NQF-2 qualification.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed a Matric (NSC)/ Equivalent with Mathematics and Science as subjects
  • Must be between 18 and 35 years old
  • Must have exceptional communication skills
  • Must be able to follow instructions and procedures effortlessly
  • Must have networking and relating skills
  • Must be highly organised and have excellent planning capabilities
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be able to work well in a team
  • Preference will be given to candidates residing near/within the Magalies Water operational plants (Bojating, Vaalkop and Lethabong)
