ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE LEARNERSHIP:

Vodacom is one of the top African communications companies. They provide many services such as mobile and fixed voice, financial services, messaging, communication services, coverage services and enterprise IT to their 120 million customers.

Vodacom was first established in South Africa and grew to many other countries such as the DRC, Tanzania, Mozambique, Kenya and Lesotho. Vodacom offers business managed services as part of Vodacom Business Africa (VBA) and the company is mostly owned by Vodafone (with a 60.5% holding.)

Locations: various ICT centres:
- Sunnyside, Pretoria, Gauteng
- Orlando Pirates Centre, Soweto, Gauteng
- Ganyesa, North West
- Witbank, eMalahleni, Mpumalanga
- Lady Frere, East London, Eastern Cape
- Umbilo, Berea, KwaZulu-Natal
- Worcester, Cape Town, Western Cape
- Vehembe, Makhando, Limpopo
- Thabanchu, Bloemfontein, Free State
- Siyanda, Upington, Northern Cape
Contract term: 1 year

Vodacom is offering nationwide learnership opportunities to young candidates, and aims to allow them to form part of the identified future projects and programmes. During this programme, candidates will be trained and learn to develop ICT skills and on completion, candidates will acquire the necessary skills to assist in computer refurbishment, connectivity, IT equipment installation and troubleshooting. During the programme, candidates will also receive a stipend and the programme will take place at the above ICT centres.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed Matric (NSC) with Mathematics (Pure or Literacy), Physical Science, Business Studies and English (as a 1st or 2nd language)
  • Must reside within the radius of the Vodacom ICT centres as listed above
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be 18 and 34 years old
  • Must NOT have been involved in any other learnership programme
  • Must NOT be receiving any other bursary/ financial assistance within the last year
  • Must be from a previously disadvantaged background

Please note:
- Preference will be given to candidates from Quintile 1-3 schools (Quintile 1 is the poorest schools, while Quintile 5 is the least poor)
- Learners who do NOT disclose will be disqualified
- Learners will have to adhere to strict COVID-19 restrictions
