DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Boksberg, Gauteng
Contract Type: temporary

The Volvo Group is offering an internship opportunity within the Volvo Group Real Estate department. The programme will take place at Volvo Trucks Head Office.
 

Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

  • Ensuring that the JLL system is accurately and regularly updated
  • Providing support in managing building maintenance projects pertaining to both STM and LTM
  • Providing assistance in the negations and selections of suppliers whilst working closely with IPS (when they are present in the market)
  • Ensuring that appointed suppliers are managed as well as ensuring that performance is evaluated in accordance with IPS
  • Providing assistance and support to the Property Project Manager for the delivery of property projects
  • Ensuring your participation in the negotiation of lease agreements for the purpose of site rent reviews, new site acquisitions, and renewals
  • Ensuring that files, reports, and records are maintained and recorded according to business and local legal needs as well as RE internal demands
  • When applicable, populating internal data capture systems
  • Keeping track and following the demands and property legislation of the authority
  • Ensuring that work is managed in accordance with the Volvo Group processes
  • When required, partaking in the Health and Safety activities at sites
  • Ensuring that information for RE property masterplan is compiled and maintained
  • Ensuring that property assessments are conducted in line with the agreed frequencies
  • Taking responsibility for the ordering process in the purchasing system pertaining to specific projects as well as daily operations
  • Ensuring that the In dialogue with the purchasing department (IPS) (when present in the market) is secured and that the purchasing process is followed so that you avoid incorrect costs/ invoices
  • Ensuring the accurate posting to accounts by handling the correct processing of invoices
  • Ensuring that project management systems, such as VGRE Project, is updated. This will ensure the correct cost posting and payment plans for each project. These updates need to be done with the support of the Property Project Manager as well as according to requested deadlines and frequencies

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must have completed a Quantity Survey National Diploma
  • Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must have an excellent Interpretation of technical drawings
  • Must have project management/planning capabilities
  • Must be able to conduct excellent report writing
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must be able and willing to travel often
  • Must have information processing skills
  • Must be able to work well in a team
  • Must have excellent planning and prioritising skills
  • Must have high attention to detail
  • Must follow the principles and values of Volvo Group
