South African Police Force Service (SAPS) Internships South Africa 2022/ 2023

DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: South Africa (all provinces)
Duration: 12 months
Pay/ Stipend: Will be determined based on qualification by the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA)

The South African Police Service hereby invites unemployed graduates who conform to the requirements for participation in a twelve (12) months’ Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) Internship in the Divisions and Components.

The Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) Internship is part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy.
 
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years
  • Must have completed Matric an be in possession of National Senior Certificate or equivalent (NCV L4)
  • Must have completed a relevant tertiary qualification (see full list of internship specific requirements here)
  • Must have NO previous criminal conviction(s) or case(s) pending
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must have never been employed in field of the advertised post
  • Must have never participated in an internship programme in the relevant to the field of the post
  • Must reside in the Provinces where the post is advertised

 

HOW TO APPLY FOR THE INTERNSHIP POSITION:

Deliver your application, along with the relevant documentation to your provincial department (as listed on the application form below).

Attach the following documents to your application:

  • A completed SAPS Graduate Internship Application Form, with the reference number of the post you are applying for (reference numbers can be found on the SAPS Internship advert
  • An updated Curriculum Vitae
  • A proof of residence
  • A certified copy of your Identity Document (no older than 3 months)
  • A certified copy of all of your academic transcripts (no older than 3 months)

 

Please note:

  • Applicants may only apply to 3 positions. Please complete a separate application form for each post.
  • The application is open to individuals with disabilities
  • Only the Workplace Integrated Learning (WIL) application form will be considered
  • All instructions on the application form MUST be followed- failure to do so will result in your application being unsuccessful
  • The references number on the application MUST be correct
  • Emailed and faxed applications will NOT be considered
  • Only successful candidates will be contacted
  • If you have not received a response within 2-months of the closing date, consider your application unsuccessful
  • Shortlisted candidates will undergo fingerprint screening
  • The SAPS is NOT obligated to fill out a post after advertised
  • Permanent employment is NOT guaranteed after the 12-month internship contract
