DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Sibanye Stillwater Academy is offering a Rock Breaking Learnership opportunity to a young candidate interested in the Mining Industry.
 

Key responsibilities of the programme:

  • Escalating queries and concerns associated with the programme and completion thereof where required.
  • Adhere to all legal and safety requirements.
  • Conduct all work according the required standard, specifications and training.
  • Attend SHE meetings as and when required.
  • Ensure that the prescribed safety equipment is worn and/ or used.
  • Recognize hazardous situations that have an impact on all jobs and participate in on the job risk assessment.
  • Compile developmental progress reports for progress discussion with the relevant stakeholder.
  • Report all inconsistencies and obstacles.
  • Report and communicate ideas and recommendations.
  • Ensure effective team relationships and support.
  • Build and maintain partnerships and relationships with all stakeholders within the business.
  • Engage relevant stakeholders to gain the necessary business context.
  • Support and promote a positive work environment
  • Adhere to all mining standards and procedures.
  • Assist and support team members in the completion of tasks.
  • Ensure effective two-way communication between team members.
  • Support and promote a positive work environment.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed an ABET Level 4 (NQF 1)
  • Must have a clear security screening record
  • Must be medically fit to work in the specific business area
  • Must be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
  • Advantageous: completed a National Certificate: Mining Operations for Underground Hard Rock (NQF 2)
  • Advantageous: have a minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Team Leader Production
