DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Tzaneen, Limpopo

SEF is offering a Graduate Programme/ Internship to candidates interested in pursuing a career within the Microfinance and Social Economic development sectors.

During the programme, the candidate will have an opportunity to work within a diverse environment and be surrounded by like-minded colleagues and inspiring organisational leaders. The programme takes place at SEF's head office and within the rural areas it operates in. The candidate will complete key tasks and assume responsibility in the future of SEF, as well as further enhance their personal and business skills. The candidate will also gain the opportunity to relate with several positions both within and outside of SEF; and upon completion of the programme, have solid experience to guarantee a prosperous career.
 

Structure of the SEF Graduate Programme:

  • Rotational Schedule: Successful candidates will be placed in a 6-month rotational programme that will allow them to gain hands-on experience within various SEF departments. These include Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Operations, Quality and Compliance, Research and Development, and Training.
  • Departmental Specialisation: The second half of the programme will assign the candidates to one of the departments based on their interests as well as the needs of the organisation. This will allow the candidate to gain relevant practical exposure within a specific department and enhance their strengths and skills. Through this, the candidate will establish useful skills to cover future roles within SEF.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must be a graduates studying towards an Advanced Diploma or Degree and/or be studying towards a postgraduate qualification in one of these fields: Auditing, Bachelor of Science, Business Administration, BCom Commerce, Development Studies, Economics, Human Resources, Information Technology, International Relations, Social Sciences, Statistics
  • Must have an academic record with a 65% average
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be no older than 35 years old
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have knowledge and experience in Microsoft Package
  • Must have excellent multi-tasking capabilities
  • Must be passionate about alleviating poverty
  • Must be interested in developing rural businesses
  • Must be driven and enthusiastic
  • Must be eager to learn and a fast learner
  • Must be open-minded and culturally sensitive
  • Must be able to work well in a team and independently
  • Must have excellent leadership skills
