DETAILS ABOUT THE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Sasolburg, Free State

Omnia is offering an Mechanical Fitting and Instrumentation Mechanician Apprentice opportunity, to dynamic young, self-motivated candidates. The apprentice will serve the program as described by Government, CHIETA and NAMB.
 

Duties and responsibilities of the roles:

  • Working with an experienced coach, to allow the apprentice to obtain workplace experience in skills and knowledge relating to the relevant trade
  • Operational maintenance to ensure on the job learning supported by structured as well as institutional learning
  • Attendance of all theoretical classes at an accredited provider
  • Obtain relevant trade related practical exposure on Omnia Fertilizer Sasolburg site
  • Successful theoretical and practical assessment activities that are required for the final assessment per phase should be supported by an updated logbook
  • Exposure to all aspects of the trade will result in obtaining a red seal qualification (Trade Certificate)

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed Matric Grade 12
  • Must have completed the following subjects in Matric: Mathematics, Physical Science or Engineering Science, English Language, Related Trade Theory
  • Must have completed the following subjects in Matric and N3 Certificate: N3 Mathematics, N3 Engineering Science, N3 Engineering Drawing, N3 Industrial Electronics, N3 Related Trade Theory and English Language (NOT Mathematical literacy)
  • Must be between 18 and 26 years old
  • Must be medically fit
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must pay close attention to detail
  • Must be energetic and self-motivated
  • Must be committed to delivering a high standard of work
  • Must be able to adhere to academic guidelines
  • Must be willing to conform to rigid standards of performance
  • Must have a high level of concentration
  • Must be able to work accurately and carefully
  • Must be willing to keep up-to-date with advances in techniques and equipment
  • Must adherence to safety requirements
