DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Polokwane, Limpopo
Duration: 12 to 18 months

Limpopo Jewellery Business Incubator is inviting candidates to apply for an entry Level 3 learnership opportunity. Later, candidates will enter into a learnership prgramme at LJBI that will run for 12 to 18 months and offer three qualifications related to the Jeweler sector.

The candidate will successfully obtain their qualification by actively engaging in face-to-face training, practical workplace training, as well as industry outings. Those candidates who reach an artesian level will be granted the opportunity to go for a trade test.
 

Qualifications offered in the programme:

  • National Certificate in Jewellery Manufacturing
  • Further Education and Training (FET) certificate: Jewellery designing and Goldsmith

Career opportunities after the programme:

  • Starting your own jewellery company/ design and manufacturing business
  • Working as a goldsmith
  • A Manufacturer for mass production
  • CAD jewellery designer
  • Salesperson or a manager in a jewellery retail store
  • A buyer for a large jewellery chain
  • Quality Assurance Technician (i.e. Evaluating jewellery items)
  • A trainer, facilitator, assessor, or moderator in a jewellery school

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African Citizen
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
  • Must have completed Grade 10 to 12/ Matric
  • Must have Mathematics and Science as high school subjects (preferable)
  • Must be from a designated group
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must be interested in craftmanship
