DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: KwaZulu-Natal
Duration: between 1 and 12 months (based on the needs and requirements of the productions)

The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission (KZN Film) is offering an Internship/ Training Programme. The programme is aimed at Film & Television Production graduates who are interested in gaining work-readiness training on a mid to long-term basis.

The KZN Film Commission aims to enhance the economy by providing and encouraging opportunities for persons, especially from disadvantaged communities to enter and participate in the film industry in the province.
 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a South African citizen or resident
  • Must reside in KwaZulu-Natal province
  • Must have completed Grade 12/ Matric
  • Must have completed a relevant qualification in Film & Television Production

ABOUT THE COMPANY PROVIDING THE INTERNSHIP:

The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission is a newly established entity in terms of the KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission Act, 2000. The KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission has been set up to promote the film industry in the province, and has as part of its mandate:
- To promote and market the province as a global destination for film production;
- To develop, promote and market, locally and internationally, the film industry in the province;
- To facilitate investment in the film industry in the province;
- To provide and encourage the provision of opportunities for persons, especially from disadvantaged communities, to enter and participate in the film industry in the province;
- To address historical imbalances in the infrastructure and in the distribution of skills and resources in the film industry in the province; and
- To contribute to an enabling environment for job creation in the film industry in the province.
