DETAILS ABOUT THE GRADUATE PROGRAMME:

Location: Gauteng and North West
Duration: 3 years
Stipend: between R5000 and 14 250 per month

The Department of Home Affairs is offering a graduate programme to several candidates in a variety of disciplines. The programme is open to members of the youth, who are encouraged to register on ESSA for this opportunity. The programme aims to allow candidates the opportunity to engage in continuous learning and development interventions to improve their skills and establish a solid foundation for a professional career.

The programme will run from 1 November 2022 until 31 October 2025.
 

The following graduate opportunities are available:
Runner and Prepper
Duties:

  • Retrieving files from shelves
  • Sorting and listing files
  • Ensuring documents are prepared for scanning by unfolding, removing paper clips and staples, sorting documents according to size, and inserting separate sheets
  • Numbering files and documents

Re-assembler
Duties:

  • Retrieving the digested files
  • Returning files to shelves
  • Ensuring files are verified with the initial files received from the source

Receiving Clerk
Duties:

  • Verifying all boxes and files
  • Capturing and numbering boxes and files

Drivers
Duties:

  • Loading and delivering boxes to all digital bureaus and sources

Indexer
Duties:

  • Indexing of files
  • Sorting and listing files
  • Re-assembling files
  • Boxing all files in batches

Scanner
Duties:

  • Using the high-volume scanner to scan files
  • Loading the scanner and scanning all bundles
  • Image clean-up

Quality Controller
Duties:

  • Ensuring quality control for relevant functions is conducted

Team Leaders
Duties:

  • Supervising all daily activities
  • Allocating all duties (such as work activities)
  • Managing performance
  • Providing the PMO with daily and weekly reports

Technical Support
Duties:

  • Ensuring IT Infrastructure runs smoothly
  • Manager
  • Duties: Managing and leading the team

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed the following qualification:
    • Runner and Prepper: Diploma in Document and /or Records Management or Information Technology
    • Re-assembler: Diploma in Document and /or Records Management or Information Technology
    • Receiving Clerk: Diploma in Document and /or Records Management or Information Technology
    • Drivers: Diploma in Document and /or Records Management or Information Technology
    • Indexer: Degree in Information Technology / Library Science or Computer Science
    • Scanner: Diploma in Information Technology/ Library Science or Computer Science
    • Quality Controller: Degree in Information Technology or Library Science or Computer Science
    • Team Leaders: Degree in Document and /or Records Management/ Information Technology or Computer Science
    • Technical Support: Honours Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science
    • Manager: Master’s Degree in Document and /or Records Management, Information Technology, Library Science, or Computer Science
  • Must have studied at a recognised University, University of Technology, or TVET
  • Must be unemployed
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old
  • Drivers: must have a valid driving license

This includes the systematic maintenance of the National Population Register (NPR) and the management of birth, death, and marriage records and identity documents.
