DETAILS ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
Duration: 6 months

Change.org is offering a full-time Learn and Work Programme: Social Media and Design Internship. The programme aims to aid the graduate in developing their social media, design, and campaigning skills on a global scale.
 

The intern will have the opportunity to work in a broader global campaigns team that is at the forefront of technology and citizen campaigns. During the programme, the intern will propose ideas, face new challenges, and aid the company in creating influential content for its South African online channels. The graduate will report to the Senior Campaigner and will receive a monthly pay/ stipend during this internship opportunity.

What you will learn during the programme:

  • Social media content strategy and execution
  • How to provide support to escalating campaigns
  • How to effectively communicate with colleagues
  • Problem-solving skills and empathy for the audience through campaigns and social media content
  • Developing campaign social media strategies with a team
  • Data analysis skills
  • Organisation skills

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must be a recent graduate in one of these fields: Digital Marketing and Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Media or Broadcasting or another related field
  • Must have experience in Social Media, Design, and Digital Marketing
  • Must have experience in social media content creation and campaign management
  • Must know social media networks and how to utilise them to create passionate communities
  • Must be proficient in Photoshop, Canva, and other tools
  • Must have experience in graphic design and video production
  • Must be proficient in social media analytics tools (e.g. google analytics/ crowd tangle)
  • Must know the main social issues within South Africa and its protagonists
  • Must have excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Must have a passion for social change
  • Must have a passion for social justice issues
  • Must be energetic
  • Must be self-motivated and proactive
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must be flexible
