DETAILS ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP PROGRAMME:

Location: South Africa (various locations)
Number of positions available: 50
Duration: 3 years

AFGRI is offering apprenticeship opportunities to 50 candidates who have technical ability to qualify as Artisans. This Apprenticeship Programme will allow the successful apprentices to grow within AFGRI under the mentorship of our highly experienced and dedicated Artisans.
 

Key Performance Areas of the Programme:

  • Partaking in training to become a Tractor Mechanic/ Technician
  • Taking responsibility for all stock control
  • Ensuring that all related equipment is repaired and maintained
  • Engaging in customer service
  • Completing general work tasks and duties

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDED TO APPLY:

Before applying, please ensure that you meet ALL of the following minimum entry criteria – failure to satisfy all the requirements will result in your application being disqualified:

  • Must have completed an N2 qualification with these subjects: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Diesel Trade Theory and any one of the following subjects: Industrial Electronics, Engineering / Technical Drawing, Motor Trade Theory
  • OR
  • Must have completed Matric/ Grade 12 with a minimum of 40% for these subjects: Mathematics (Not Literacy), Technical Mathematics (Not Literacy), Physical Science, Technical Science, Engineering Graphics and Design
  • Must have completed a National Certificate Vocational (NCV) Level 4 with theory subjects for designed trade applied for (i.e., Tractor Mechanic and Technician)
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Must have excellent administration skills
  • Must be dynamic and self-motivated
  • Must be computer literate
  • Must be highly motivated
  • Must pay close attention to detail
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be deadline and goal-driven

  • Must be committed to completing the full-time apprenticeship contract for a 3 year period

Please note:

  • This application will take at least 30 minutes to complete
  • Applicants who do not have the above qualifications can undertake N2 requirement subjects through Further Education and Training sponsored by AFGRI as part of the programme.
  • Candidates must be available for an interview and assessment process as defined by the company.
  • This apprenticeship does not guarantee permanent employment at AFGRI. Unemployed learners will receive a monthly stipend.
